Mark Thompson's Career Path
Retail Manager (1988 - 1994)
Mark began his retail career as a retail manager. He managed department stores, convenience stores, specialty stores and gas stations. Mark worked hard to learn the retail business from the bottom up, developing a keen sense of how to train a team to insure continued success
Business Analyst (1994 - 1996)
He began his IT career on a team developing a store automation package for a major retailer. He was critical in the success of the beta site and assisting the retailer with upgrading their Radio Frequency Handheld Computers as well as working to implement version control for the team.
Project Lead (1996 - 1997)
He moved on to a consulting position with MCI Systemhouse and was placed on the Zale project team implementing Retek. Mark was moved quickly into a lead role over all the custom development for the project. His designs for item lists and location lists were eventually incorporated into the base product with the client's encouragement.
Retail Practice Lead (1997 - 1998)
Mark moved to a boutique consulting firm in 1997 called the Edison Group. He was the lead consultant on another Retek implementation and held supervisory accountability on all Retail projects (whether Retek or not). His clients were

Owner BLT Soft Incorporated (1998 - 2016)
He partnered with three former colleagues to form BLT Soft Incorporated. Although a founder and owner of the company, Mark remained engaged with the following Clients during that time

Mark sold his interest in BLT Soft Incorporated and formed his own company. Mark has focused on the following clients
